Northern Thailand - Plenty to See

When you think of Thailand Bangkok-We often think of shopping, nightclubs and perhaps a little 'shopping. Maybe Phuket and its beautiful beaches and resorts on the beach for many. However, like most of those who spent time in Thailand knows, there is more at home. The Northeast of Thailand is a place of ancient culture and tradition, but even after many years of tourism - the area is relatively unknown. After two hours flight aboard Thai Airways flight to Bangkok, we landed in Nong Khai, a border town between Thailand and Laos on the Mekong River. A bridge of friendship linking the two nations''and the province is a gateway to the capital of Laos, Vientinane beautiful and peaceful. Inhabited Nongkhai dats back over 200 years, with small villages that dot the riverbank. Many ancient artifacts were found in the temples on the river at Tha Bo - The route of Chiang Mai. Nong Khai is 615 kilometers from Bangkok Chos noise and magnificent and covers a vast area of 7.332 kilometers square, with the greater length of the Mekong river, contained within its boundaries large - 320 miles. He soon progressed to Laos, on the bridge of friendship and there is no right to Vientiane. The modern-day capital of Vientiane, which replaced the old capital of Luang Prabang - Laos today one of the "most popular tourist destinations - many years ago, is a viable alternative to one side the hectic pace of most of the capitals of Southeast Asia. Caminos open much smaller than the entire population of the capital (of Laos is only 5 million people), Vientiane wide, and a mix of French colonial architecture and traditional Asian give the city a quiet place, the old world charm. Attractions for visitors to understand. That Luang and a sanctuary of coastal nations fear, Ho Phra Keo, once was the image of the Emerald Buddha, now enshrined in neighboring Thailand, Phra Keo, Built in 1565 by King Setthathirat and was built to house the Emerald Buddha, the king took in fact, in Thailand. Although the Thais regained in 1779 and today there are no monks in residence, living in the original base now a museum of religious art as a whole and includes a Khmer stone Buddha, a wooden copy of the famous Luang Prabang and garden interesting and elusive transplanted from the Plain of Jars in northern Laos, which includes thousands of jars of huge stone. After a delicious lunch of regional specialties, we have prepared for the trip back to Bangkok and after that at home.
