The Trimurti Shrine - in the quest for true love at the Lovers'Shrine

The Trimurti Shrine is located in the busy Ratchaprasong in downtown Bangkok at the corner of Central World Plaza (former World Trade Center), across the street from the famous Erawan Shrine. Although less frenetic than the Erawan Shrine, the Trimurti Shrine has an aura of its own. Legend has it that those who pray here for true love have fulfilled their dreams. The worshipers are mostly local, that are normally in the evening to make their offerings of garlands and incense sticks. Trimurti refers to the trinity of Hindu gods consisting of Brahma, the creator, Vishnu and Shiva, the destroyer of support, the three most important deities in Hinduism. The deity is a gold statue of a human body with two heads and four arms. The heads are one above the other, the lower head has four faces. Built in 1989, the Trimurti Shrine is on a raised platform covered by a dome on four pillars, richly carved facades with four sides. There is an open space around the shrine, with a ring of seats for the faithful to sit and reflect. Handmade in the classical Indian sculpture, with a touch of Thailand, the statue is a replica of the original ancient Ayutthaya. Like the other shrines in Bangkok, the Trimurti Shrine was built to answer the prayers of the people in search of success, prosperity and happiness. The shrine somehow acquired the reputation of granting happiness in love, because it is very popular with young Thais who are associated with the temple of the God of love. Legends build on itself and how the fame of the shrine grew, as did the flock of the faithful. Such is the fame of the shrine that is sometimes referred to as the Shrine of the lovers'. There is an atmosphere of peace and serenity throughout the Trimurti Shrine and the place is only a draw to natural persons. There is a small but steady stream of the faithful, young couples, female couples, unmarried men and women, some after work. No longer confined to youth, although older people were seen there too. On the Erawan Shrine, the origin of God in the Trimurti Shrine counts for the faithful who are firm in their faith, that the sanctuary will meet with his pursuit of happiness. Valentine's Day every year, lovers Sanctuary 'was decorated with red roses. Lit candles red shadows in the night as the faithful flock to the shrine. Young women with their eyes closed, kneeling before the Trinity of Gods, the buckle of incense sticks and pray with an intensity that impacted on their faces. The will of their prayers answered? The next time you are in Bangkok, down at the Shrine of the fans and say a prayer for true love. Do you feel lucky? The Trimurti Shrine has moved Trimurti Shrine has moved from one corner of Central World Plaza in Ratchaprasong junction (near the Erawan Shrine) to the fund that is closest to the Pratunam junction. The sanctuary is now near the Shrine of Ganesh. This change is due to the construction work is going on at the end of Ratchaprasong Central World Plaza.
