Massage Therapy Basics
What is massage therapy? Massage therapy is a manipulation of muscles, ligaments, tendons, skin, fascia and joints of the body. This is a practice that has existed since the beginning of peopledom. In fact, the old techniques are still employed in the modern world. The benefits of massage are extensive. Not only can help relieve pain and aid in physical illness and the day to day, but the mental and emotional wellbeing. The relaxation, awareness, anxiety and depression can be helped and facilitated with massage therapy. Massage stimulates the immune system, relaxes and reduces anxiety, relieves pain, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, stimulates muscles less widely, increasing endorphins, aids physical rehabilitation, and improves circulation (blood and lymph). There are many different techniques and therapies in the field of massage. Some of these may be familiar to you already, even if you do not know exactly what they imply. Massage therapy is considered a field of health and massage therapy is often the subject of many health plans because of its proven healing and positive results. Massage is private and secure. Depending on the type of massage you receive, partial body, full body, 30 minutes or more, you may need to undress completely or not at all. The room should be warm and comfortable and can not be playing pop music. If the environment makes it difficult experience, please inform your therapist, a massage should be relaxing and enjoyable. This is true if you feel pain somewhere in your massage experience. Some techniques are more intense and can be a little "uncomfortable at times, but if you hear something that makes you uneasy, do not hesitate to speak.
